STAISE- Student’s Technical Association of Information Science & Engineering was inaugurated by Mr. Sidhharth Adyanthaya, Hardware Engineer, Qualcomm and alumni of Sahyadri. He addressed the students to build skills in aptitude, technical and domain expertise to excel in the career. He shared his experience of how he got through a reputed company such as Qualcomm. He motivated the students to work hard and build career. In the presidential address, Dr. Shamanth Rai, stressed the students to inculcate leadership qualities in them and stated that association is the arena to exhibit leadership and managerial skills. The department also has initiated a drive #onestrawless initiative to stop using plastic straws. The academic toppers of the department were honored by the chief guest.
STAISE Student Association 2016-17 Inaugurated

STAISE, Association of Information Science & Engineering Department was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. Jitesh B V, Project Lead, Tech Mahindra, Germany, Chief Guest of the programme. Mr. Jitesh, in his inaugural address emphasized on the need for the students to learn multiple technologies and participate in co-curricular and extra co-curricular activities. The guest of honour Prof. Umashankar B S, addressed the students on the importance of outlining a road map in order to reach the goal successfully.

Dr. A P Manu, President & HOD of the department extended a warm welcome to the third semester students and highlighted the various programs to be conducted under the umbrella of the association. The special attraction of the event was the theme - "Namma Kudla".

Students' Technical Association of Information Science and Engineering (STAISE), a student association of the Department of Information Science & Engineering was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Prof. Umashankar B S, Dean Academics for the academic year 2015-16. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest stressed on the importance of non- violence and peace that students have to embrace. He witnessed the oath on non-violence that the students undertook to follow. He further stressed the importance of taking up projects that will help in social reforms.

Dr. A.P. Manu, the head of the department in his presidential speech briefed about the various activities that the association has planned for the current academic year. He welcomed all the Semester III students of the department and stressed on the importance of these activities in the professional growth of the students. The academic toppers of various semesters were felicitated for their excellence in academics.
Students showcased their talent through a cultural program after the formal function ended.
Outgoing Students of Information Science & Engineering Bid Farewell

The outgoing students of the current academic year of the department of Information Science & Engineering were given a farewell by STAISE; the student association of the department. Mr. Arun Kumar Nayak A., Project Manager, Infosys Ltd. was the Chief Guest. He addressed the outgoing students on opportunities in software companies and also briefed about the placement procedures. Prof. Manu A. P., the Head of the Department, informed the students about the code of conduct and nature of job in the software industry. He also extended a helping hand from the department side for any technical problems that they may come across. The faculty members appreciated the students for their achievements in academics as well as extra-curricular activities. On this occasion, outgoing students shared their views on their academic journey at Sahyadri. The outgoing students were wished the best for a bright future.
On 20th March, 2015, IS department association traditional day was celebrated. For the STAISE program Prof. Rashmi Bhndari, Head of the department of Placement was invited as the Chief Guest and Prof. Umashankar B S, Dean (A) became the Guest of Honor. The function was also chaired by Dr. A P Manu, HoD of ISE, as President of the association, Prof. Shruthi Ramdas, Asst. Prof. of ISE as Staff coordinator and Mr. Sanoj S student coordinator.
The chief guest highlighted about the importance of technical skills, what should be concentrated during study, and some important useful tips about the placement process. Dean (A) mentioned about the innovation, research and its importance in the engineering study how it can be cultivated in study. The hed of the department briefed about the achievement of STAISE & IS department and also upcoming programs under the umbrella of this. Staff coordinator welcomed the dignitaries and all participants. Student coordinator gave vote of thanks during his speech.
After that, certificates and cash award was felicitated to all the academic toppers. The winners of the sports and activities were distributed with certificates and cash award.
Mehandi - Ms. Sadia of 4th sem, Cooking without fire – Ms. Dimple & team of 4th sem, & Ms. Priya Bhandari team of 4th sem, Lagori – Ms. Anusha S & team in women and Mr. Srajan & team of 6th sem in men, Dog and the bone - Mr. Srajan & team of 6th sem and Tug of war Mr. Naveen B & team of 4th sem in men section and Ms. Harshitha & team of 6th sem in women section.

The department of ISE inaugurated new association as after got separated by CS department. The association was inaugurated by Prof. K Mitra, HoD of Mathematics. Before this, both the departments conducting programs under TOXICS. The chief guest briefed about the application of mathematics related to engineering very well.
A Student Association of the Department of Computer Science Engineering & Information Science & Engineering was inaugurated by Mr. Sudheer Pakkala, Software Test Manager, Timken Engineering Research India Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore.
Mr. Sudheer Shetty, HoD of CSE and the President of TOXICS, welcomed the Chief Guest, the staff, and the second year students of CSE and ISE. Dr. Umesh M. Bhushi, the Principal, in his presidential address said that the association must help the students in developing their skills and this should lead to the overall development of their personality. Dr. Mohandas Bhat, Dean-Academics was present during the function. Dr. Manu A. P., HoD of ISE and the advisor of TOXICS, gave motivational guidelines to the students and wished them the best in the coming events to be conducted by TOXICS. The General Secretary, Mr. Gautham J. Shetty, gave an overview of the Association activities of the year 2012-13 and the activities planned for the current academic year. The HoDs of various departments were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Mr. Sudheer Pakkala, the Chief Guest, delivered a technical talk on, “Business Process Testing." He shared his immense knowledge about software testing and its application in business process. He gave a glimpse of the scope and advancements in this field.
The staff co-ordinator, Ms. Mehanaz Begum, read out the names of the VTU toppers of all semesters of CSE and ISE and they were honored on this occasion with a certificate and a gift voucher by the chief guest.
Mr. Sagar S. Shetty, the Vice-President of TOXICS, proposed the Vote of thanks. Various technical and non-technical events like Technical Treasure Hunt, Technical Dumb charades, Cooking without fire, and variety programmes by students and staff were carried out in the afternoon session where the students were given an opportunity to showcase their talents.

The president of TOXICS, HOD of CSE and ISE, welcomed the chief Guest, the staff, and the second year students of CSE and ISE. The general secretary, Mr. Sagar Shetty, gave an overview of the Association activities of the year 2011-12 and the activities planned for the current academic year.
Dr. U. B. Pavanaja, the chief guest, addressed the gathering and shared his immense knowledge. He delivered a technical talk on “Software Internationalization/Localization." He spoke about the necessity of localization and globalization of the languages. He gave a glimpse of the scope and advancements in this field.
Meritorious students and VTU toppers were honoured on this occasion with a certificate and a gift voucher by the chief guest. Various technical and non-technical events like IT Quiz, Cooking without fire, Super Trios (A mixture of programming and non-programming events) were carried out in the afternoon session where the students were given an opportunity to showcase their talents.
