Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Principal Investigator at the Digital Forensics and Cyber Security Centre of Excellence was invited by the New Mangalore Port Trust to deliver a lecture on Cyber Safety as a part of their Vigilance awareness campaign.

Synergia 2024

Sahyadri presents Synergia 2024, a national event celebrating innovation, technological advancements, and visionary ideas, from November 7th to 9th. Expected to attract over 5,000 students from more than 200 institutions, Synergia 2024 is a platform designed to inspire young talents to engage in emerging fields across science, technology, and entrepreneurship.

This year’s highlights include the 11th edition of the Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt (SSTH), an initiative aimed at motivating high school and pre-university students to devise solutions to pressing social challenges. SSTH focuses on mentoring students to approach problem-solving through innovative thinking, with experts from Sahyadri’s SHINE program guiding them. The challenges emphasize sustainability and community impact, encouraging students to transform their academic knowledge into actionable projects. To ensure participants are well-prepared, intensive design-thinking and problem-solving workshops were conducted at schools and colleges across Karnataka. Additionally, participants will engage with engineering students and faculty during the event, exploring first-hand the world of innovation and engineering through the “Be with Engineering” initiative over two immersive days.

Another much-anticipated part of Synergia 2024 is Devhost, a 24-hour hackathon hosted by the Sahyadri Open Source Community (SOSC). This event will include hackathons, e-sports,

workshops, and tech talks, all crafted to inspire young minds to collaborate on real-world projects.

Participants will work in teams to solve specific challenges, strengthening not only their technical abilities but also teamwork and communication skills, which are crucial for future success. Complementing SSTH and Devhost, the Sahyadri Robotics Club (SRC) will host a series of robotics competitions, including RoboSoccer and the Line Follower Challenge. These competitions give young engineers the opportunity to demonstrate their technical skills and creativity in a dynamic, competitive environment. Additionally, an electrifying air show featuring aerobatic displays, skydiving stunts, and disaster response simulations is set to captivate audiences and showcase the precision and artistry of aviation.
