Dept. of ISE and CSE (Data Science) organized the Old Age Home Visit

Dept. of Information Science & Engineering and CSE (Data Science) organized an “Old Age Home Visit” event on 30th October 2024. The event was coordinated by Prof. Shwetha S Shetty. The students visited Shri Matha Lakshani Old Age Home located in Meramajal, Arkula Mangaluru. This way, students created friendly contacts with residents to learn about the details of the inhabitants’ routines and difficulties. This interaction gave a thorough
emotional learning, both the students and the residents were able to understand each other’s feelings, and was memorable.
Following these interactions, students and residents shared a cheerful lunch with sweets and fruits, creating a friendly, communal atmosphere. The day concluded with vibrant cultural activities, including songs and dances, bringing joy and laughter to the ashrama. The visit ended with heartfelt farewells, as both students and residents expressed gratitude for the
experience. This successful event emphasized compassion, intergenerational bonds, and a renewed sense of community among all participants.

ECE Faculty and Students Publish Chapter on Edible Electronics for Food Packaging

A book chapter titled "Edible Electronics for Food Packaging," authored by Prof. Babitha, along with 2024 batch graduates Ms. Meghashree, Mr. Sanjay P. K., and Mr. Ruthesh K, is featured in the newly published book "Edible Electronics for Smart Technology Solutions." Published by IGI Global, the chapter explores the groundbreaking advancements that edible electronics bring to the field of food packaging. These innovative solutions integrate electronic components like sensors and actuators into edible substrates, such as films or coatings, creating biodegradable packaging that goes beyond simple containment. This novel approach offers enhanced sustainability, functionality, and consumer engagement, marking a significant shift in the food industry's packaging landscape.

Dr. Prabhu interacts with 76RR batch IPS probationers of Karnataka Cadre

Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Principal Investigator at the Digital Forensics and Cyber Security Centre of Excellence was invited by the Karnataka Police Academy to deliver a lecture on Technology in Policing for the 76RR batch IPS probationers

The 2-hour session concluded with an exhaustive round of Q and A. Assistant Director of the Academy Mr Shiva Shankar delivered the inaugural address. Dr Prabhu spoke about Cyber security, AI and how data can be used to gather intelligence. He also mentioned about few Open Source Intelligence tools.

Placements and Training: SAP Lab Recruitment Drive

SAP Labs is recruiting Data Science students from the 2025 outgoing batch for a Development Role with a CTC of INR 4.56 LPA. The recruitment process started with a Virtual Online Assessment on 2nd November and will be followed by a Pre-Placement Talk on 4th November to introduce students to SAP’s culture and career growth opportunities
