MBA Faculty members attend the Director’s Conclave at TAPMI Manipal

Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-MBA Program; Prof. Ramesh K G, Dean-Strategic Planning and Dr. Sushma V attended the Director’s Conclave organized by T. A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) Manipal at their institution on 22nd Nov, 2024.
The event showcased TAPMI’s leadership, including Dr. Rajeev Kumra, Director; Dr. Raghunath Rudran, Dean of Research; Dr. Gururaj Kidiyoor, Dean of Academics; and Dr. Tathagata Ghosh, Professor of Marketing. They provided an insightful presentation on the institution’s diverse programs under the MAHE umbrella, its impressive rankings, and its storied history and achievements.
The conclave emphasized avenues for collaboration in research, teaching, and consultancy. TAPMI leadership also extended a support in faculty development programs and curriculum enhancement initiatives. Furthermore, the institution announced Ph.D. openings, encouraging colleges to nominate candidates for research opportunities.

Innovative Projects by ECE Students Shine at College-Level Poster Competition

The fifth semester ECE students showcased their innovative projects and won prizes at the college-level poster presentation organized by the Department of CSE (AIML) on November 19th and 20th, 2024. At the department level, the first prize was awarded to the project titled "Design and Simulation of a Multi-Role Unmanned Aircraft for Strategic Defence," presented by Chirag R P, Shreya N T, Srajan (5th Semester, ECE), and Among (5th Semester, RA). The project was guided by Prof. Megha N Dept. of ECE and Prof. Abhishek K, Dept. of MERA. The second prize was secured by the project titled "Wellness on Wheels - A Smart Cruiser," developed by Bhoomika H Salian, Reethashree C, Megha Akku Mathew, and Induja S from the 5th Semester, ECE. Their work was guided by Dr. Navaneeth Bhaskar, Associate Dean (R&D) and Associate Professor, Department of ECE. A total of 35 mini-project teams from the 5th semester ECE participated in the event, showcasing their creativity and technical expertise.

Department of ISE & CSE (Data Science) Organized a Technical Talk on “Application Security within Cyber Security”

Dept. of Information Science & Engineering and CSE (Data Science) organized a Technical Talk for the students of ISE and CSE (Data Science) on “Application Security within Cyber Security” on 23rd November 2024 in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), mInDS – Dept. Students Association, IEEE-SCEM Student Branch, ISTE, and IEI. Dr. Abhishek Vaish, Professor, Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) - Allahabad was the resource person for the session. The session covered a few crucial concepts of application-oriented cybersecurity such as injection attacks, broken authentication and session management, insecure direct object references, security misconfigurations, key features of OWASP ZAP (Zed Attack Proxy), and Cross-Site Request Forgery. The Session also covered different types of testing such as Black Box, White Box, and Grey Box.
The event was coordinated by Prof. Akhila Thejaswi R. Dr. Sudheer Shetty, Vice Principal & Professor – ISE; Dr. Rithesh Pakkala P., HOD – ISE & CSE (Data Science); Prof. Harisha, Asst. Dean (Innovation) and Prof. Pratheek H, Dept. IIC Coordinator were present during the program.

MBA Students gain insights through Industry Visit to Gujarat

Dept. of Business Administration organized an insightful industry visit to Gujarat, with 22 students accompanied by faculty members Prof. Akshatha P. and Prof. Anirudh R. Bhat, providing a unique blend of theoretical learning and practical exposure. The visit aimed to deepen students' understanding of key industries and their operational frameworks.

Thar Dry Ports- Sanand, Ahmedabad
At Thar Dry Ports, students delved into the intricacies of logistics management, container handling, and export-import processes, including customs duties. This immersive experience offered a real-world perspective on global trade operations and underscored the critical role of effective supply chain management in today's economy.

Amul Fed Dairy Cooperative, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad
The second stop was at Amul Fed, one of India’s most iconic dairy cooperatives. Students observed the milk production process, the creation of by-products, and the extensive logistics network that ensures global distribution. This visit highlighted Amul's scalable supply chain and innovative marketing strategies, which have played a pivotal role in making it a trusted household name.

Reliance Textiles- Naroda Division, Ahmedabad
The final destination was Reliance Textiles, where students witnessed the production of premium suit fabrics. The visit provided a comprehensive overview of product development, quality control, and branding strategies in the textile sector, emphasizing the importance of innovation and market dynamics.

Physical Education Director nominated as the Coach for VTU Weightlifting women team

Ms. Ramya P, Asst. Physical Education Director, Dept. of Physical Education, has been nominated as the coach for the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Weightlifting Women team in the competition to be held at Acharya Nagarjuna University Campus, Guntur (AP) during 26th to 29th November, 2024.

MBA Faculty attends a 2-week online Faculty Development Program (FDP) by IIT Madras

Prof. Monisha Shetty, Dept. of Business Administration participated in a 2-week online Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled ‘Financial Data Analysis with AI, Machine Learning, Time Series & Algorithm Trading’, organized by Mechanica IIT Madras in collaboration with EduxLabs. The program covered comprehensive modules, including Python programming, data manipulation with Pandas, machine learning foundations, time series forecasting, and portfolio risk management. FDP focused on providing valuable insights into tools like ARIMA, SARIMA, and advanced trading algorithms, enhancing financial analytical skills.

Concluding Day: Non Credit Mandatory Course-Yoga Camp

Ten-day Yoga Camp done as a part of the Non Credit Mandatory Course (NCMC) for fifth semester, B E students concluded on 23rd November 2024. During the course Dr. Rangappa, Yoga Expert taught Sooryanamakara, Yogasans done in standing, sitting and lying down positions that are commonly practiced daily for general good health. Dr. Rangappa also recited Shlokas pertaining to performance of each asana and its benefit. He explained a health daily routine practiced in ancient India which kept people in disease free. On the tenth day he explained the Pranayamas and taught some of them to the campers. On the last day Dr. S S Injaganeri, Principal visited the venue and wished all the participants well. Academic Section had organized the Yoga Camp.
