Sahyadri Celebrates the 78th Independence Day

The 78th celebration of India's Independence Day was viewed with joy and pride by the Students, teaching and non-teaching staff of Sahyadri on 15th Aug'2024. Ms. Padmashree Alva, Director-Chief of Staff to the Founder & CEO, MResult, Chief Guest, hoisted the National Flag. The National Anthem was sung by the gathering with gusto, giving it full-fledged attention.
Ms. Padmashree Alva has 20+ years of diverse experience in Human Resources. Her specializations are in Talent Acquisition, Strategy, Operations, Culture Change and People Management; pre-dominantly in IT/ITES and Legal domains. She is currently a Senior Director & Chief of Staff at MResult and is based out of Bangalore. Padmashree is an avid trekker, loves reading poems & art, an amateur writer and believes that the world can be a better place with a little bit of empathy.

While addressing the gathering, Ms. Padmashree said – “Indian Independence is an emotion of the nation”. Talking about the life skills that one should master, she gave heads up on how one could overcome the fear – Centre yourself; write down all fears; identify the worst possible outcomes and finally select the best possible outcomes. She concluded her talk by saying – “Be kind to yourself”.
Her speech was followed by singing of the National Song - 'Vande Mataram' which evoked and eulogized the history and struggles of our great nation. Dr. S S Injaganeri, Principal was along with CEO Mr. Johnson Tellis on the dais during the formal program.

Mr. Johnson Tellis, in his talk urged the audience to reflect and evaluate – “Are we living a life of a purpose?”
In his Presidential Remarks, Principal Dr. S S Injaganeri, re-iterated that “freedom reminds us of our responsibility and not merely freedom from the British rule”. He emphasized on the value system to be inculcated and also reminded the teachers to not conduct classes alone but mould the students as future citizens. In his concluding remarks, Principal said – “Teachers have a responsibility and play a key role in nation building”.

Later, Prof. Samarth Shenoy, Dept. of Business Administration sang a patriotic song. This left everyone with a renewed sense of patriotism.
Variety Entertainment Competition for faculty was held as a part of Independence Day Celebration. This was a great opportunity for faculty to present their talent and show their love and respect to the nation through their performance.
