Teachers Day Celebration and “Guru Vandanaa” programme at Sahyadri

In honour of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's birthday, Bhandary foundation in association with Sahyadri organized the Teachers Day celebration and “Guru Vandanaa” programme on 5th Sep, 2024 honouring the teachers for their extensive service to the field of education. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. B Ramanath Rai, Former Minister, Govt. of Karnataka; Chief Guest Mr. Umanath Kotian, Member of Legislative Assembly; Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, Member of Legislative Council and Dr. S S Injaganeri, Principal.

On this occasion, Shri. Anantha Rama Herale, Shri. Bhagwan Das, Shri. Mahabala Alva, Smt. Suma Alva and Smt. Lucy Concepta Coelho and Shri. Sadananda H S were felicitated for their exceptional contribution to the education sector and their service to the students.

The programme began by offering flowers to the photo of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan by the dignitaries on the dais and off the dais.

Mr. Jagannath Chowta, Trustee welcomed the gathering and expressed how delighted Sahyadri was to host such stalwarts under one roof of Sahyadri.

Dr. Manjunath Bhandary was emotional when he shared about his transformational journey. He spoke about his sister Shri. Suma Alva who played an important role in his journey of life and how his brother-in-law Shri. Mahabala Alva being a teacher shaped his future.

Mr. Ramanath Rai talking about the best moments of his childhood, shared anecdotes on how these teachers helped him develop his leadership ability.

Mr. Umanath Kotian talking about his achievements gave credits to these teachers who strengthened his value system and made him ethically strong.

Post felicitation of the teachers, they shared their words of appreciation for recognizing them and remembering the contributions they made to the students life.

They shared anecdotes of how education system was then and how it has changed now.

More exciting was to see the old students of the felicitated teachers meet them and further share moments of happiness and make this day a special one.

Internship Program for Third-Semester Students

On the fourth day of the internship program, third-semester students focused on C programming, covering one-dimensional and two-dimensional arrays, along with time and space complexity. They also engaged in problem-solving exercises based on the morning's concepts, with swags awarded to the day's top performer. Meanwhile, Mechanical students were taught how to create formal presentations and pitch their ideas. In the afternoon, the students participated in an ideathon, where they presented their ideas.
