Arena-2024 was inaugurated by the Chief Guest-Ms. Namrasha N Ganiga, a National Athlete and Alumni of Sahyadri MBA along with Principal Dr. S S Injaganeri; Dr. Lawrence Fernandes, Assoc- Dean (Student Welfare); Mr. Sampath Hegde, Sports coordinator, 8th semester, Dept. of ECE and Ms. Yashmitha B, Sports Joint Secretary, 8th Semester, Dept. of ISE. During the inauguration, the chief guest, spoke on the occasion and appreciated the efforts of the sports department in gathering all students and faculty in such huge numbers, encouraging students to participate in wide range of sports activities and thereby contributing to their holistic development. The Principal, in a spirited address during the ARENA 2024 annual sports day at Sahyadri, commended the students and faculty for their exemplary dedication and showcased pride in the collective spirit of sportsmanship that permeated the event. Their words resonated, setting the tone for a day filled with camaraderie, competition, and a shared commitment to excellence. All students who represented Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi in All India Sports events were felicitated. Engaging in a unified display of discipline and solidarity, students from both the Engineering and MBA departments enthusiastically participated in the March Past during the event. A diverse array of individual and team sports activities was meticulously organized, providing students with the platform to showcase their exceptional talents and skills during the event. The closing ceremony marked the end of an unforgettable chapter, leaving behind a legacy that will undoubtedly inspire future generations to embrace the joy of sports and the enduring spirit of competition.Ms. Sanjana Shetty and Moksha was the Master of ceremony. Mr Karthik P Department of MBA and Mr. Sampath Hegde Department of ECE won the Individual Championship in the Boys section, Ms. Pallavi Department of AIML and Ms Saanvi Rai Department of CSE won the Individual Championship in the Girl’s section, Over-all Championship in the Boy’s section won by the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering with 41 points & Over-all Runners in the Boys section won by the Department of Computer Science Engineering with 25 points. Over-all Championship in the Girl’s section won by the Department of Computer Science Engineering with 29 points & Over-all Runners in the Girl’s section won by the Electronics & Communication Engineeringwith 27 points. Over-all Championship (Boys & Girls combined) won by the Electronics & Communication Engineering with 74 points. March past 1 st place - 1 st year G Section, 2 nd place- AIML & 3 rd place -I year K section. The event formally ended with lowering the flag by ARENA 2024-Individual Champions & the meet was Declared closed by Principal Dr. S S Injaganeri.
