MBA Faculty Invited as Chief Guest for International Women’s Day Celebration

Prof. Pooja Yashwanth Rai, faculty member from the Department of Business Administration was invited as the Chief Guest for the International Women’s Day celebration organized by JCI Kundapur City. The event was held at Dr. B. B. Hegde College, Kundapur on 11th March 2026, where women achievers were felicitated for their contributions and accomplishments.

During her inaugural address, Prof. Pooja highlighted the importance of financial independence for women and emphasized the need for maintaining both mental and physical well-being among students. She also spoke about women’s safety and empowerment, encouraging young women to build confidence, pursue their ambitions, and contribute meaningfully to society.

Sahyadri to Host Grand Finale of ‘Protothon 2026’: A 24-Hour Innovation Sprint

Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management and MEITY Startup Hub-Genesis in collaboration with Sahynex Techsolutions Pvt. Ltd, Technical Career Education (TCE) and Discover Dollar Inc, the companies housed at Sahyadri are set to host the Grand Finale of Protothon 2026, a high-intensity 24-hour national-level hackathon, on March 13th and 14th 2026.

The event aims to bridge the gap between academic theory and industrial application, challenging India’s brightest young minds to build functional prototypes using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

After a rigorous shortlisting process that began in February 2026, the top selected teams (nodes) will now converge at the Sahyadri Campus for a non-stop build session.

Event Highlights:

Duration: 24 Hours of continuous innovation.

Prize Pool: Teams are competing for a prize pool of ₹60,000 and direct industry exposure.

Mentorship: Industry experts from Sahynex, TCE and Discover Dollar will be on-site to provide technical guidance and professional mentorship.

The "System Kickoff" (Inauguration) is scheduled at 9:00 AM on March 13th, 2026 followed by the 24-hour "Build Phase." The event will culminate in a final demo and awards ceremony at 12:00 PM on March 14th, 2026 where the most impactful prototypes will be recognized.
