Sahyadri Students at Applied AI and Scientific Machine Learning Conference, IISC Bengaluru-Day 2

Day 2 of CASML 2025 brought together influential speakers from MeitY, NVIDIA, Meta, and IBM, presenting cutting-edge advancements across AI, national digital growth, and scientific innovation. Amit Kumar Mishra (NIC, MeitY) discussed how India is strategically leveraging AI to accelerate digital transformation, enhance governance systems, and strengthen national economic development. Jigar Halani (NVIDIA) showcased how Generative AI is revolutionizing scientific research through advanced workflows and NVIDIA’s enterprise-grade AI platforms. The NVIDIA team also conducted an exclusive hands-on training session on LLM development, giving participants practical exposure to building and optimizing large-scale AI models.
Tosh Rayadhurgam (Meta) explored next-generation search systems powered by LLMs, covering query understanding, semantic document enrichment, and hybrid vector-lexical architectures. Pankaj Dayama (IBM) presented breakthroughs in Time-Series Foundation Models and their applications in forecasting, anomaly detection, and industrial intelligence.
Overall, Day 2 delivered deep technical insights and practical training, highlighting how AI—from GenAI to foundation models—is shaping the future of scientific discovery, enterprise systems, and India’s digital vision.

Placement and Training: Infosys recruitment drive

The Infosys recruitment drive was held on 8th Dec ‘2025, for the role of Specialist Programmer, offering a CTC of ₹21 LPA. The process began with a brief introduction about the company and the role, followed by a three-hour online programming assessment consisting of coding problems of varying levels of difficulty. The test evaluated candidates’ problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and programming proficiency. Based on the assessment results, one student was shortlisted and advanced to the next round of interviews.

Sahyadri Kabaddi League (SKL–2025)

Sahyadri Kabaddi League (SKL–2025), an inter-class Kabaddi tournament for Men and Women students from all branches of Engineering and MBA, was held from 25th November 2025 to 2nd December 2025 at the Sahyadri Srishti Auditorium. The event was organized by the Department of Physical Education, along with the final-year students namely Sujith Prasad, Athreya Adyanthaya, and Vamsh K. Shetty.
A total of 8 teams participated in the tournament.

The closing ceremony was graced by the Guest of Honour, Mr. Devadas Hegde, Trustee, Bhandary Foundation; Mr. Vasanth, Campus Manager; Prof. Sunil Kumar and Ms. Reshma, a student parent, who presided over the ceremony.
During the event, Mr. Jagadeesh Poojary, Gym Trainer, was honoured for his achievements. The Director of Physical Education, Mr. Karnakumar K. S., along with Ms. Ramya P., distributed the prizes to the winners and presented mementoes to the officials.

Research Work of ECE students and Faculty Accepted at the International Conference

Research paper titled “Solar Integrated Biomass System for Sustainable Organic Waste Management”, authored by Aksha K B, Bhoomika V K, Simran Shaikh, and Apoorva Nagekar under the guidance of Prof. Rekha M B, Dept. of ECE, has been accepted for presentation at the 4th International Conference on Electronics and Renewable Systems (ICEARS 2026).
The conference, organized by St. Mother Theresa Engineering College, Thoothukudi, is scheduled to be held from 11th to 13th February 2026.

Pool campus Recruitment drive by Coffee Day Global for MBA students

The placement drive by Coffee Day Global Ltd was conducted at Sahyadri on 9th December 2025 to recruit candidates for the position of Sales Trainee. The recruitment team, comprising Mr. Sohan B, Branch Head – Sales, Karnataka, and Ms. Hansa Devi from the Human Resources department, opened the session with an informative pre-placement talk. They provided an overview of the company, its sales operations, the responsibilities associated with the role, and potential career growth pathways.

A total of 35 students participated in the drive, including 12 students from St Aloysius Institute of Management & Information Technology, Mangalore. The selection process began with a Group Discussion designed to assess communication skills, teamwork, and analytical thinking. Following the discussion, 17 students were shortlisted for the Personal Interview based on their performance.

The final results are awaited as the company continues its evaluation process.

An Interactive Session on “Research Capacity Building, Publication Ethics & Strategy” for all teaching faculty will be held on 10th Dec, 2025. The session will be led by Dr. J. G. Manjunatha, a distinguished academician and research mentor with expertise in research methodology, academic writing, publication ethics, and institutional research development. The programme aims to strengthen research skills and promote ethical and high-quality scholarly publications among faculty members.
