Students of B.Voc in Retail & Supply Chain Management, SDM Degree College, Ujire, Visit the Incubation Centres at Sahyadri

Students from the Department of B.Voc in Retail and Supply Chain Management, SDM Degree College, Ujire, visited the Incubation Centres as part of their experiential learning initiative. The visit was facilitated by the Department of Business Administration, providing students with an opportunity to explore the campus and gain insights into the functioning of the incubation ecosystem.

During the visit, students were introduced to the innovation-driven environment of the incubation centres and their role in fostering entrepreneurship and start-up culture. A presentation highlighting the key achievements and academic initiatives of the MBA Department was also conducted, offering participants a deeper understanding of the program and its learning opportunities.

Faculty and students attended IEEE Bangalore Section Volunteers meet at IISc Bangalore

IEEE Bangalore section organised first IEEE Volunteers meet for the calendar year 2026 at IISc Bangalore for Student Branch Counsellor and Student Chair. Dr. Gurusiddayya Hiremath, Student Branch Counselor and Mr. Shivasubrahmanya from CSE (AI&ML), Chair of Computational Intelligence Society and Mr. Vaishakh A from CSE, Chair of Computer Society and Communication Society, participated in the event. CSE (AI & ML) Dept. organized workshop on Innovation-Driven Agentic Automation

The Department of CSE (AI & ML) organized a workshop on Innovation-Driven Agentic Automation on 28th February for the 4th and 6th semester students.

The session was delivered by Vineeth Shenoy, Software Engineer at Novigo Solutions, who shared insights on the convergence of Generative AI and Robotic Process Automation and explained how intelligent autonomous agents can transform traditional automated workflows into self-learning systems.

The workshop included an engaging hands-on session where students actively explored the concepts discussed and gained practical exposure to building and understanding agent-based automation workflows. This interactive component helped participants better understand how intelligent automation systems can be designed and applied to real-world problems.

The event was coordinated by Prof. Shruthi Vishwajeeth and Prof. Rajeshwari Shettigar.

CSE (AI & ML) Dept. organized a one-day Hackathon – Navonmesha: Igniting Intelligent Innovation

The Department of CSE (AI & ML) organized a one-day hackathon titled Navonmesha – Igniting Intelligent Innovation for the 4th semester students.

Real-world problem statements were presented to the participants in the morning, and by the end of the day the student teams developed working prototypes addressing the given challenges. The hackathon provided an excellent platform for students to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical setting and collaborate effectively to develop innovative solutions within a limited time.

A total of 19 teams participated in the event. The projects were evaluated by faculty members from various departments, who appreciated the creativity, technical approach, and problem-solving abilities demonstrated by the students.

Dept. of CSE organised a talk on ‘Embedded System’

On 28th Feb 2026 the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering organised a talk on Embedded System with the objective of providing students with industry exposure and guidance on career opportunities and campus placements in embedded systems.

The guest speaker for the session was Ms. V. Neha, an alumna of the CSE Department, currently working as an Embedded Systems Engineer at Iwave.

During the session, she shared her professional journey and spoke about her role in the embedded systems domain. She explained the nature of work in the industry and how technical knowledge gained during college plays a vital role in professional growth.

Ms. Neha emphasized the importance of campus placements and encouraged students to start preparing early. She advised students to strengthen their core technical concepts, improve problem-solving skills, and develop good communication abilities to succeed in interviews and build a strong career.

The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, where students clarified their doubts regarding career paths and placement preparation. The Talk was informative, motivating, and beneficial for all the participants.

ISDC: Mastering DSA Hands-on Session

On 28th February 2026, ISDC conducted a hands-on session on “Mastering Data Structures and Algorithms” for 1st and 2nd year students of all branches. The session was delivered by the team consisting of Deeksha K, Abdul Shaz,, Divya K, and Shashwath, with the support team members Ramya Pai, Shreyas Damle, Sanjana Shetty, and Y G Pavan ensuring smooth coordination. The session aimed to strengthen students’ problem-solving abilities and build a strong foundation for placements and competitive coding. The importance of Data Structures and Algorithms in software development was clearly explained, along with how companies evaluate candidates based on DSA skills. Key concepts such as time complexity and space complexity were discussed in a simple and understandable manner, helping students learn how to analyze the efficiency of their programs.

The session included solving multiple problems step by step with detailed explanations. Students were guided on the correct approach to start learning DSA and were provided with necessary study materials and a structured DSA sheet for consistent practice. The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating, asking doubts, and attempting solutions during the hands-on practice. Overall, the workshop helped students gain practical exposure, improve logical thinking, and boost their confidence in mastering DSA concepts
