Merry Christmas

Christmas is celebrated every year on 25th December to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, whose teachings emphasized love, compassion, humility, forgiveness, and service to humanity. Over time, Christmas has evolved from a purely religious observance into a global cultural festival that spreads the message of peace, joy, and goodwill among people of all faiths.

Historically, the celebration of Christmas dates back to the 4th century, when it was officially recognized by the Roman Empire. The festival also absorbed several cultural traditions, such as decorating

evergreen trees symbolizing life and hope, exchanging gifts inspired by the gifts brought to infant Jesus by the Three Wise Men, and lighting candles to represent the triumph of light over darkness.

The significance of Christmas lies in its core values. It reminds individuals to practice kindness, generosity, empathy, and gratitude. For students, Christmas offers an opportunity to reflect on the importance of coexistence, cultural harmony, and social responsibility. The festival encourages sharing, caring for the less fortunate, and strengthening bonds within families, institutions, and communities.

MBA HR students attend a Seminar on ‘Understanding Labour Codes and their Implications’

A Seminar on “Understanding Labour Codes and their Implications” was jointly organized by KCCI and NIPM Mangalore Chapter at Ocean Pearl, Mangalore, with the objective of creating awareness about recent labour law reforms and their practical implications. Two of the MBA HR students - Ananya Amin and Yuha attended this seminar, gaining valuable exposure to current labour legislation.

The programme was inaugurated by Captain Brijesh Chowta, who highlighted the importance of labour codes in strengthening industrial harmony, ensuring compliance, and protecting employee welfare in a dynamic work environment.

The technical sessions provided an in-depth understanding of the Social Security Code. The seminar also included information on the key provisions, coverages, and implications for employers and employees, emphasizing the role of HR professionals in effective implementation.

The seminar concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, allowing participants to clarify doubts and engage in meaningful discussions.
