Department Overview
The Department of Information Science & Engineering was established in the year 2007. The department is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi. The department offers a 4-year Full-time Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree program (i.e. B.E. in ISE) and a Part-Time Ph.D. program by research.The department was accredited by NAAC in the year 2017 and by the Institution of Engineers (IE) in the year 2018. In addition, the UG program offered by the department is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) since 2020, reflecting its commitment to maintaining high academic standards and quality education.To enhance the teaching-learning-assessment-continuous improvement process, the department has been practicing the Outcome Based Education (OBE) since 2016. The current intake of the UG program is 120 students. Being one of the most sought out department of the institute, a large number of enthusiastic and aspiring learners from various parts of the country, including Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra, and other states, are pursuing their dreams in the department.

Message from the Department’s Head
It is a matter of pride and privilege for me to head the Information Science & Engineering and CSE(Data Science) department. As stated in the institute's tagline, the department's main goal is to 'Empower the Young Minds.'
Practice Outcome Based Education and impart all the graduate attribute traits to the students, including ethics and values
Build multi-dimensional skill sets in students by imparting quality education, industry-institute interaction, future skills training, leadership skills, entrepreneurial skills, and so on
Implement an effective Mentor-Mentee system to keep track of the overall progress of the students emphasizing academics, placements, co-curricular and extracurricular activities
Entitle faculty members by encouraging them to participate in Research and Development events and familiarizing them with new-age skills through Faculty Development Programs and the use of modern teaching-learning tools
