About Physics Department
The Department of Physics was established in 2007 and has consistently maintained excellence in both teaching and research endeavours. The well-equipped Engineering Physics Lab provides students with hands-on experience and practical skills essential for their academic and professional development. The VTU-approved Research Center offers opportunities for researchers to pursue PhD degrees. Moreover, the well-equipped "Thin Film Research Lab," funded by VGST, provides fabrication and characterization facilities for students and research scholars to work on thin films for various applications. Through these initiatives, the department is committed to fostering a conducive environment for academic excellence and research innovation.
Objectives of our department are :
To understand the role of science in society and to evaluate the historical development of physics in the ongoing quest to discover the structure of the universe.
To gain an understanding of basic principles and the experimental basis of the various fields of physics and the logical relationships of the various fields.
To help the students to use mathematical skills conceptual and mathematical models in order to analyze the order of magnitude estimates and an understanding of limiting cases.
Develop competence in designing, constructing and using laboratory instruments and to draw valid conclusions from experimental data.
To arrange lectures/ seminars related to Science and Technology
To get consistently excellent results in both theory and Practical.
Vision
To provide a strong foundation in physics, ready to revolutionize industries and influence the future of scientific research.
Mission
To promote excellence in technical education and scientific research through the practical application of physics in real-time engineering challenges.
