Sahyadri’s own DTI Labz Pvt Ltd a full-fledged company in India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2018, New Delhi

India Mobile Congress 2018 with its theme "New Digital Horizons. Connect. Create. Innovate." is being held from 25th to 27th October 2018, at Aerocity, New Delhi. It is organized by the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India and Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).

DTi Labz is chosen to be a part of the Karnataka State Pavilion at the India Mobile Congress along with 9 other startups from all over Karnataka. DTi Labz is being represented by Gagandeep B and Poojary Dikshith of 5th and 3rd Semester respectively from the department of Electronics and Communication.

Sayadrians representing DTI Labz interacted with numerous students and delegates from various companies across the nation who in turn commended their efforts on simplifying the learning curve in electronics based projects. They visited various exhibitors like Samsung, Huawei, Intel, Nokia, Qualcomm, Airtel, Jio, Facebook, Cisco etc., who showcased technologies mainly related to 5G, Internet of Things, Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence.

The inauguration was presided by the likes of Smt. Aruna Sundarajan (Secy. & Chairperson, Telecom Commission, Govt. of India), Mr. Mukesh Ambani (Chairman & Founder, Reliance Industries), Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal (Chairman & Founder, Bharti Enterprise)

DTi Labz is part of the Karnataka State Pavilion at the India Mobile Congress along with 9 other start-ups from all over Karnataka and Gagandeep B and Poojary Dikshith of 5th and 3rd Semester respectively from the Department of Electronics and Communication are representing are representing DTi Labz of Sahyadri.

The Day Two at IMC 2018 started with a Global Concalve of CEOs which included plenary sessions on Networks of tomorrow, Emerging Technologies, Power of content, Value creating through Digital Marketing etc., lead by Smt. Aruna Sundararajan (Secy. & Chairperson, Telecom Commission, Govt. of India); Dr. Jay Kim (Vice President of Samsung Electronics); Mr. Jim Jefferies (President & CEO, IEEE): Mr. Sameer Batra (CEO, Wynk) and Mr. Phil Twist (VP Networks Marketing & Comms, NOKIA). The prime emphasis during the plenary session was on 5G technology and how operators would need to dynamically change as per the requirements of the user and how they would provide more value to the customers. With 5G, the emphasis was on the internet connectivity of Billions of devices and also on the need for the network to be smart using AI and Multiple Edge Computing. There was considerable discussion on the use of Blockchain to secure data on this mega network. Mr. Jim Jeffries, the President & CEO of IEEE, while talking about the skill-sets necessary in the future, spoke on community-based learning and multi disciplinary collaborations. The need for a 5G network to have Open Source contribution was also talked about with importance.

The DTi labz booth was visited by many students during the Day Two who were keen on knowing the Dreamkit platform. Students appreciated the product greatly and commended the project-based learning environment at Sahyadri. Few visitors to the booth asked for application specific modules, capable of being deployed in a real time environment.

The booth was also visited by Mr. N Sivaselam (Special Secretary, Dept. of Telecom, Govt. of India) & Mr Kishore Babu (Deputy Director General, Dept. of Telecom, Govt. of India).

Delegates from major players in the conference like Huawei and C-dot also appreciated the product and commended the students on representing start-ups while still pursuing their degrees. The representatives interacted greatly with start-ups from across India with a very diverse range of services from ITES to Spectrum testing hardware.
