Padma Bhushan and C. V. Raman Awardee, Prof. B. V. Sreekantan, an eminent Researcher of International repute had informal interaction and discussion with Core Research Committee members from different departments. Emphasizing on grooming research acumen, he advised to have a definite goal and to decide what one would like to be. He also emphasized on some basic ground rules which help one to excel in performance. He stressed on the significance of reading biographies of eminent people and maintaining diaries on day to day basis.
He gave a call to work together as a team and never be ashamed to accept ignorance. He mentioned as research and academic should always go together. Evaluation mechanisms have to be apt and merit should be the criteria, he added. He noted that China and Japan have reached the height of success by sheer hard work. There is no sense of urgency in India too which needs to be inculcated, he said.
