Director of Symbiosis Law School, Pune visits Sahyadri

Sahyadri has had the privilege to host educationists, lawmakers, corporates, medical professionals etc. since its inception.
Dr. Shashikala Gurpur, Director of Symbiosis Law School, Pune and Dean of Faculty of Law, Symbiosis International University visited Sahyadri on 22nd Dec’19 and was received with the same cordiality which is reserved for all elite guests.
Mr. Devdas Hegde, Trustee, Bhandary Foundation and Dr. Rajesha, Dean-Academics, welcomed and interacted with Dr. Shashikala Gurpur. They accompanied her around the campus and talked to her about the campus’ academic accomplishments.
Dr. Shashikala visited various departments, labs, innovation centres and start-ups. On having visited these, she had deep admiration for the student-centric initiatives undertaken by the college.
During the interaction, Dr. Rajesha S and Dr. Shashikala dwelt upon the prospect of a possible collaboration between Sahyadri and Symbiosis for Research works relating to Forensic field.
About Dr. Shashikala Gurpur:
Dr. Shashikala Gurupur graduated in Law from Mangalore University in 1988. She is a recipient of the Fulbright Fellowship as well as the Legal Education Innovation Award of SILF-MILAT in 2011 and many other such prestigious awards over the years.
Today, Dr. Shashikala holds the reputation of having held office as member of the Law Commission of India and having taught at the National University of Cork, in addition to having co-authored two Academic Books and carried the role as Constituent of Editing Boards of various international journals.
Dr. Shashikala is a Life member of Indian Law Institute and also Former Member of Law Commission of India.
Another Awe Achievement of Dr. Shashikala Gurpur is that she is the Nominee for Chief Justice of India.
