Thin Film Research Lab starts functioning at Sahyadri

Thin Film Research Lab that has been established from the State Grant received from VGST with due support from the Management, started functioning in the Department of Engineering Physics with effect from July 4th’19. The Programme coordinator - Dr. Navin N Bappalige has given the demonstration of the functioning of this unit to Dr. Manjappa S, Director R&D; Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal and to the HOD’s of all departments. VGST has sanctioned Rs. 5.00 Lakhs under its RFTT scheme in the year 2017-18 to the Programme coordinator to establish Thin Film Research Lab using Spin Coater. From the fund received, along with the Spin Coater, the characterization units like Hall Probes, Thin film Electrical characterization unit, high resolution microscope with camera, hydrothermal autoclave to produce nano powder, Ph meter, IR based thermometer, furnace and other basic equipment have also been set up. Researchers across departments can now utilize the facilities available in the Thin Film Research Lab.
