Sahyadri celebrates the Ninth Graduation Day for the engineering students

The Ninth Graduation Day for the students of M.Tech and Bachelor of Engineering (2018-19) was held in the Campus. 700 students of B.E. and 21 M.Tech students took an oath and received their graduation certificates from the esteemed guest - Mr. Binoy K, Campus Manager – Wipro, the Chief Guest for the ceremony.

Mr. Binoy K. has varied experience in Volume Hiring/Leadership Hiring and Technical Hiring. He is currently working with Wipro as a Regional Campus Head – Engineering for Karnataka Region. He has completed graduation in Arts with a PG in Personal Management. Mr. Binoy comes with a total of 18 years of experience in Talent Acquisition. He also enjoys connecting with people from different regions.

Dr. D.L. Prabhakara - Director, Dr. R. Srinivasa Rao Kunte – Principal, Prof. S.S. Balakrishna and also other eminent dignitaries from academia were present. Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman presided over the ceremony.

The chief guest declared the Graduation Day open and distributed the Graduation certificates to the students. Prof. Sudhir Shetty, Dean – Examinations lead the graduates in the oath taking ceremony

Parents and relatives of students were also present to support their children/ward on this momentous occasion. It is a moment of pride for the parents who look on with satisfaction as an academic degree is conferred on their child.

Dr D.L. Prabhakara – Director extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries on the dais florally and formally welcomed the entire gathering off the dias. Mr. Manjuath Bhandary delivered the keynote address and introduced the day’s guest.

In his address, Mr. Manjunath Bhandary said that this batch has helped set a benchmark for this college as such. He also made a proud mention of the VTU toppers/gold medalists/rank holders who had brought laurels to this college. While giving the placement picture, he mentioned that this academic year the college has made record placements. The college has given the best of the best to its students he said, and further went on to say that substantial infrastructure coupled with creative and dedicated faculty and their relentless hard work is what has made this possible. As such, today, Sahyadri stands as one of the crème-da-la-crème institutions in Karnataka.

Finally, Mr. Bhandary stressed on discipline above all. He advised the students placed in various companies to maintain discipline and show the same sincerity so that the companies consider Sahyadri for more placements. Further, he advised the alumni to connect and share their experiences and thereby maintain a good relationship with the juniors and the faculty. The students who are placed are the brand ambassadors of companies for Sahyadri, he concluded.

Mr. Binoy K., in his speech advised the students to be a good child to their parents, a good pupil to their teachers and finally be good citizens, thus bringing laurels not only to their college but also to the society and to the world in a broader sense. He was truly impressed and said that the energy that emanates is electrifying. The ambience is energizing. He spoke about the importance of people who blessed them with knowledge – teachers and also spoke about the importance of parents.

Finally, Mr. Binoy said that there are many people who will walk into their lives, will touch and influence and then move on thus making way for more people to walk in and influence their lives.

“You are now standing on the shore of life and looking at the vast sea ahead which is your future. Also, every day of your life there will be an empty note book. It is up to you to fill it. So fill it up as much as possible, because you have the liberty”
, were his concluding words.

A couple of students shared their experience at Sahyadri and described their feelings over their passing from the institution. They are thankful to the faculty and the chairman who made them what they are today - “Graduates” all set to step out of the comfort zone and face new challenges.
