Dept. of Civil Engineering organized “Military Awareness Programme” & Inauguration of Army Medals Exhibition

“Military Awareness Programme” was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering in association with SPACE. The guest of honour was Mr. Colonel Rajmannar, Director of Army Recruitment Office, Mangaluru; Dr. K G Shenoy, Ex-Captain, Indian Army and Mr. Shree Prakash, Former Sergeant of Indian Army. Prof. Balakrishna SS, Vice-Principal escorted the dignitaries and florally welcomed the guests. The members of SPACE lit candles to pay tribute to the brave CRPF soldiers in Pulwama
Attack. Mr. Colonel Rajmannar addressed the gathering and also conveyed deep sympathies to the families of the CRPF Jawans killed in the attack. Mr. Colonel Rajmannar was a part of the Kargil War and has been awarded by the Chief of Army Staff and Army Commander. He has also worked with the top scientists of the country on various projects.
Dr. K G Shenoy spoke about the role of engineers in the Indian Army and motivated the students to join the Indian Army. He was commissioned in Indian Army as Captain in 1987 and has served for 5 years in NEFA and Kutch area.
The programme was then followed by displaying a motivational video on "The Indian Army: We do the impossible - Miracles may take longer" to show their role in ensuring national security and national unity.
