Prestigious Microsoft - EduKinect Yappon Event 2014 at Sahyadri

The department organized Microsoft Training and Certification Program as a result of that 50 students, 4 staff members, and 4 faculties qualified the Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) exams in domains like Networking, Database Administration and Server Administration Fundamentals. Dr. A P Manu trained the interested faculties and students.Microsoft Edukinect Yappon - 2014 event held second time at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangalore on 20/09/2014 at 9.00 AM. A total of 296 students participated from various branches of Engineering and other disciplines.
Yappon is a 24 hour program, where a team has to build the Microsoft app. This event started on Saturday at 9.00AM and ended on Sunday at 9.00 AM. A total of 80 teams participated in this event and developed 94 Windows Applications. Last year 80 groups formed out of 186 students, developed a total of 62 apps.
The top 3 teams received a cash award, T shirts and certificates, and one team received a consolation award. And the rest of the participants received participation certificates. 

First Topper: Developed 1 Windows app and 3 Windows game (monster Attack, Dark City Run and Jelly rush). They bagged a cash prize of 5 thousand, T-shirts and certificates. The team members were Priyanka Shetty (4SF12CS070), Chaithra Shetty (4SF12CS025), Shreyanka Shetty (4SF12CS102) and Sangeetha K (4SF12CS091) of the 5th sem CS department. 

Second Topper: Developed 5 Windows game (Dodge IT, Facto-o-Tree, Have Eat, Sky Marble and Anglo Fence). They bagged a cash prize of 3 thousand, T-shirts and certificates. The team members were Ankit Pratap Singh (4SF13IS008), Gouse Khan (4SF13IS025) of IS department and Atif Khan (4SF12EC024), Ranjith Ram M (4SF12EC081) of EC department. 

Third Topper: Developed one Windows app (HelpEd). They bagged a cash prize of 2 thousand, T-shirts and certificates. The team members were Preetham (4SF12CS068), Sona Krishnan (4SF11CS104) of CS department and Kruthi K K (4SF12EC051), Anvitha U S (4SF12EC015) of EC department. 

Consolation: Developed one Windows App (Namaste Mangalore). They bagged T-shirts and certificates. The team members were K Swathi (4SF13CS034), M S Nazriya Begum (4SF13CS045), Gunavathi S Anchan (4SF13CS028), and Deepali Chandrahas Kumble (4SF13CS040) of the CS department. The cash award and certificates were felicitated by the Sri Mrityunjay Bhadauria, CEO and Co-Founder of Edukinect.

A total of 80 students participated from the department of ISE in LiveWire exam, which is a Cisco Talent Hunt program. Among them 10 students qualified for the second round. All 10 students got the free training on Cisco Routing and Switching Concepts at Mangalore Cisco training center. The second level qualified students were Soumya Shree K, Priyanka, Yakshita Shetty, Lizvita S T, Nireeksha, Namrata Valal, Sushmitha Shetty, Divya Kasturi, Megha M G and Navyashree Shetty B.
