Session on “Entrepreneurship: An Option or Opportunity” by StartUp Karnataka & TEI Bangalore

An introductory session on “Entrepreneurship: An Option or Opportunity?” hosted by StartUp Karnataka & TIE Bangalore was facilitated by Mr. Baliga BS, Member of TIE, Bangalore Chapter, Mr. Uday Birje, Co-Founder of Thinkstreet Technologies & Member of TIE, Bangalore Chapter & Mr. Vikas Goyal, Co-Founder of Thinkstreet Technologies & Member of TIE, Bangalore Chapter.

Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, Bhandary Foundation, in his introductory note, stressed on the importance of holding this programme at Sahyadri. He re-iterated the current scenario with regards to declining employment opportunities and the need to transform as Job Creators rather than Job Seekers. He appreciated the initiative of the guests to contribute to the society by driving entrepreneurship as a culture so that the next generation do not have to go through hardships in building their career. He mentioned that we are in the era of closing companies as the StartUps are winding up due to lack of structure, mentoring and contribution. He expressed his aim to start TIE Mangaluru Chapter in Sahyadri and take it to a level that is globally recognised.

Mr. Baliga BS in his session on “Introduction to TIE & Role of TIE in developing Entrepreneurs” mentioned that the Government is facing challenges in providing job opportunities to the graduates and are driving Entrepreneurship immensely. By being entrepreneurs we are adding to the GDP of the nation which is the biggest contribution one can give to the country. He spoke about TIE and its success story resulting from mentoring and educating entrepreneurs.

Mr. Uday Birje in his session on “Innovation & entrepreneurship, StartUp Karnataka & StartUp India Schemes” urged the students to be Leaders than a follower and mentioned that through innovation and StartUp, one can lead a team and become a leader.

Mr. Vikas Goyal, in his session on “Demystifying Marketing for StartUps” gave information about the process how a StartUp can be made sustainable by recognising the idea, anticipating about the idea and satisfy the objectives from idea, followed by what start ups can avoid.
