Placements and Training: Screening of the Documentary - 'Rani Abbakka, the Indomitable Spirit of Tulunadu'

On the occasion of the 75th Independence Day, Young Indians Team screened a documentary on 'Rani Abbakka' on 28th July 2022 at Sahyadri.
Directed and Produced by Tiya Chatterji, a Delhi based Author, Researcher, Archaeologist and Museologist, the documentary is about the life of Rani Abbakka of Ullal, who is considered as the first woman freedom fighter of India who ruled from mid-15th to mid-16th century.
Tiya addressed the students and faculty after the screening of the documentary. She mentioned that the whole idea of this documentary was to rediscover the history of the brave queen, who was a forgotten hero until now but the documentary is set to change it. Mr. Sharan Shetty, Young Indians, Tourism Chair; Mr. Madhukar S Kudva, Young Indians, Yuva Chair; Prof. Rashmi Bhandary, Dean-Placements, Teaching and Non-Teaching staff and students were present during the screening.
