CM Basavaraj Bommai launches Cyber Safe Karnataka project: Content to be developed at Sahyadri CoE for Digital Forensics and Cyber Security

The project proposed by Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and Principal Investigator at the Digital Forensics and Cyber Security Centre of Excellence, Cyber Safe Karnataka to the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports was launched by the Honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka Sri. Basavaraj Bommai, at his office, Krishna.
The project aims to make Karnataka the first Cyber Safe State in the country, envisioning the Prime Ministers Digital India and “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” initiative. The project is in association with the Home Department, Education Department and the Department of Youth Affairs.
Minister for Youth Empowerment, Sports and Sericulture Sri K C Narayan Gowda; Additional Chief Secretary Smt Shalini Rajneesh; Director General of Police Sri P S Sandhu, IPS; State lead for SDG Dr. Roopa; SP CID Sri. Sharath; ACP Reena Suvarna, Vivek Shetty and other officials were present. Film Actor Ramesh Arvind is the brand ambassador for this project.
To achieve this mission, volunteers from NSS, 4000 NGOs would work in tandem. The content for the project will be developed at the Sahyadri CoE for Digital Forensics and Cyber Security. All the participants will get access to an online portal where cyber security best practices, educational videos, quiz and other related information will be available in English and Kannada. There will also be an online certification module for the participants to get certified.
