 A session on “Importance of Fire Safety in industries and day-today life, precautions, necessary steps” is organised

Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with FLAMES & ISTE Chapter organised a session on “Importance of Fire Safety in industries and day today life, precautions, necessary steps” on 6th Nov’19 for the students of mechanical and civil engineering. The session was followed by demonstration on how one can be rescued from fire accidents. Students were given hands-on session on the same.

Mr. Rajesh Shetty, Managing Partner - Alpha Technical Training & Development Center, Mangaluru, was the Resource Person. He addressed the audience on the possibilities of fire accidents, sources, their impact on living and non-living things, precautions to be taken as well as rescue operations involved.

Mr. Shetty also explained the role of engineers in industrial safety. Further, he gave an overview on different courses available which can help students to build their professional career. He also explained the theory of fire, fire ratings, periodic inspection of extinguishers, fire-fighting systems, exam preparation etc.
