Annual College Day Celebrations  2013 - 14

The Seventh College Day Celebrations was inaugurated by Dr. N.A. Jnanesh, Member, Executive Council, VTU, Belgaum and Principal, KVG College of Engineering, Sullia.

 In his inaugural speech, he appreciated the development and the infrastructure of the college. In a short span of seven years there has been tremendous growth, he said and congratulated the management and Sahyadri team. He briefed the importance of research in education. He congratulated all the achievers on their outstanding performance during the year. He also emphasized the importance of technical education and evolution of applied sciences. He urged the student community to leverage the Exposure, Experience , Expertise and Excellence which would enable them to meet the expectations of the society and Industry.

Dr. N.A. Jnanesh obtained his ME degree from the Karnataka University, Dharwad and his doctoral degree from Mangalore University. He is well travelled and has attended and presented papers in national and international seminars and conferences. Thirty undergraduate and ten postgraduate projects and two research candidates have been successfully guided by him.

Dr. A. J. Antony, Vice-Principal, delivered the presidential address and expressed his happiness on the occasion. Dr. Mohandas Bhat, Dean Academic presented the annual report of the college. The heads of various councils presented their reports. Dr. A. P. Achar, Director MBA welcomed the gathering. Mr. Mohanjith Marla, Student Council Head spoke on the role of student council. The Academic Toppers, Best Outgoing Students of the under graduate and post graduate courses and The Council Heads for the year 2013-14 were felicitated.

Fun-filled innovative games were held in the Campus. It was followed by the cultural extravaganza by the students of the college.

Annual College Day Celebrations  2011-12

Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management Celebrated ’Annual College Day Function’ on 17th March, 2012. Celebrated its 5th Annual College Day with pomp and glory. Dr. H.V. Sudhaker Nayak, Registrar, Nitte University was the chief guest of the function . In his address, he elaborated the significance of higher education for the economic prosperity of the nation. He urged the student community to develop a profundity in the respective arena so that it takes both individual and the nation to the highest level.  He also expressed his deep concern that politics has been increasing in higher education. This development will certainly hit the quality and professionalism of education. To overcome this, keeping right person in right place by identifying his or her knowledge and skills are the key factors. Dr. Nayak appreciated the growth and infrastructure of college.

Dr. D.L.Prabhakara, Director, Sahyadri Educational Institutions, in his presidential address, recalled the inception of the college and its growth from strength to strength. He advised the students to make use of the facility of the college for the better prospects of their career. Dr. Umesh M Bhushi read out the Annual report of the college. On this occasion the college felicitated the academic and sports achievers. Prof. Alka Kulkarni, Registrar (Evaluation), Nitte University shared the dais.

 Students ran various stalls on this occasion as well as Cultural programmes were performed by the students. The performance truly made the audience dumb founded.


Annual College Day Celebrations  2010-11

Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management Celebrated ’Annual College Day Function’ on 26th February, 2011.  The annual college day of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management was celebrated at Sahyadri campus in a grand way. Prof. N R Shetty, President, Indian Society for Technical Education was the chief guest. In his address, Prof. Shetty underlined the importance of research and said that teaching must be coupled with research.

He observed that teaching process today must be learner-centered as against the teacher-centered teaching followed some time ago. He stressed on creativity and innovation as they are crucial for entrepreneurship. He also called upon the students to develop analytical skills and good communication skills. He appreciated the infrastructural facilities of the college and the learning environment it has provided to the students.

Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, President of Sahyadri Educational Institutions appealed to the student community to develop skills and creativity to create job for others by becoming entrepreneurs rather than becoming content with good jobs in reputed companies. Dr. D L Prabhakara, principal presented the annual report.

Trustees Mr. Devdas Hegde, Mr. Jaganath Chowta, Mr. Vijay Rai were present on the occasion. The students had put up very creative stalls in the morning. ‘Nibbles and Scribbles’, a stall put up by the Association of Oratocrats won the best stall award. After the formal function, students exhibited their talents by putting up a fascinating cultural programme.
