First time in Karnataka Ed-vantage YAPPON Program at Sahyadri

Ed-vantage YAPPON is India’s largest 24 hours hackathon Microsoft Apps’ development coding program organized by Edukinect and Microsoft for the aspiring Indian youth. It is inviting developers across India from Engineering colleges, leading industry partners on a platform to collaborate. Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangalore is the first College in Karnataka to get the Microsoft's prestigious Platinum Ed-vantage Academic Alliance.
The program started on 26th April, 2013 at 9.00 AM and ended on 27th April, 2013 at 9.00 AM. Around 210 students form different colleges were enrolled for the participation and the top 5 teams were awarded with a cash price of Rs. 5000/- each and participation certificates to all participants. More than 600 students witnessed the program.
Windows Apps Development Training Program
Two days Yappon Contest preparation training organized for the Sahyadri students to make them equipped with the desired skill set on 24th & 25th April - 2013. The Edukinect trainer Mr. Sai Kiran & Mr. Sai Rathan trained our 150 students. The training started at 9 and went up to 6 as a long marathon. This was the first time in Sahyadri, the students learned with full of fun.
Certiport Authorized Testing Center (CATC)
Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management is recognized as (90051646) Certiport Authorized Testing Center (CATC). Under this Microsoft's related certificate online exams like the MOS, MTA and MCP can be conducted at Sahyadri. And also it provided the platform for conducting HP certification exams.
7th & 8th March - 2013 Training & Internship program by Mr. Dorai Thodla
Day - 1: Training & Internship program in CS / IS / EC students was organized. On the first day made the discussion about projects. A small talk on how to come up with new ideas for projects or look at publicly available sources (like Google, Microsoft) and how to select the ones, made for fresher. The process of idealization was explained to those who are a fresh and were not knowing the beginning of the project. Based on their ideas separate subgroups were formed. The second group of people who came with ideas were asked them to give presentation separately. With one to one the problems were discussed and suggestions were provided. A milestone was set for their project.
Day-2: Python Workshop for half a day conducted for all the students and they were given hands on about the project. And also explained about doing research. Around 25 students participated in this program.
Training on Python and Internship Identifieng Program by Mr. Dorai Thodla
A rigorous training on Python program was conducted on 18th February 2013 and spanned over two complete days including tutorial class, hands on testing & coding exercises, evaluation. Many students from different branches attended the program and among them 1. Vinay Ragavan (EC) 2. Brian Antony (EC) 3. Koshik Raj (CS) 4. Ahmed Faizal (CS) were shortlisted by the Mr. Dorai Thodla, CEO, iMorph Inc. Ltd. internship. They get the training for 2 months. And then the internship consisting of Rs. 5000 for first 3 months and then Rs.10000 for remaining 3 months. Apart from these all participated students got benefited by getting projects under the guidance of Mr. Dorai Thodla. Total 43 students participated in this program.
