Tech Vision 2013

Tech Vision 2013, an intra-college project competition and exhibition, was held in the Sahyadri Campus. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Timothy G Lenihan, Dean – Research. Over 120 projects done by Engineering and MCA students were exhibited. Prominent among them were the Automated Wheel Chair, Bio-fuel from Cotton Seeds, the Foldable Car, Automatic floor Cleaning Machine, Sewage Water Treatment Plant, Robot for Library Usage, and Power Generation from Speed Breakers."


It showcased all the applications developed in the Yappon Event, organized under the banner of Microsoft. The student projects were evaluated by a team of judges comprising Dr. Girish, Professor & Head, Dept. of Mechanical Engg., SDM College of Engg., Ujire, Dr. Krishna Murthy, Dept. of Civil Engg., MIT, Manipal, Mr. Anil Hegde K., Structural Consultant, Vimal Anil, Mangalore, Dr. Ganesh Aithal, Vice-Principal, P. A. College of Engineering, Mangalore, Prof. Gandhimathinathan, Dept. of ECE, St. Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore, Prof. Aijaz Khan, Dept. of ECE, BIT, Mangalore, Mr. Sudeep, Dept. of CSE, P. A. College of Engineering, Mangalore, Mr. Raghunandan, Dept. of CSE, P. A. College of Engineering, Mangalore, and Mr. Satyaprakash, Dept. of ISE, AIET, Moodbidri. They were assisted by the respective department faculty coordinators of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management. The prizes were awarded under the categories – Hope of Future Project of 2013, Promising Project of 2013, Innovative Project of 2013, and Outstanding Project 2013. This exhibition fosters enhancement and encouragement of creativity. It is an endeavor to showcase the innovative talent pool blossoming in Sahyadri.


Over 1000 visitors visited the exhibition stalls and appreciated the innovation and effort of students. Mr. Sajith, whose sister was sitting for the examination said, “In this college the students are very creative. We liked the automatic floor mopping machine. I am also impressed with the clean and beautiful campus.”
